Fans awaiting the release of Kaiju No. 8 don’t have long to wait. The new official dubbed trailer has arrived. Plus, Crunchyroll plans to stream all episodes live! Instead of audiences outside Japan waiting for their Crunchyroll release, episodes will drop simultaneously. As such, fans in over 200 countries can partake in this global experience.
In addition, fans in other countries can enjoy viewing the series dubbed. On top of that, Crunchyroll plans to air live episodes in several languages, including English, Latin American Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, and Hindi. So watch it in Japanese with subtitles or enjoy it in a different language. It’s the viewer’s choice.
Adapted from the original manga by Naoya Matsumoto, Kaiju No. 8 follows Kafka Hibino (voice by Masaya Fukunishi for Japanese cast and Nazeeh Tarsha for English) as he seeks to join The Defense Force in a world ravaged by enormous beasts called Kaiju. He makes a promise with a friend, Mina (Asami Seto/Katelyn Barr). But life takes them on separate paths. That is until Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa (Wataru Katoh/Adam McArthur), whose drive to join The Defense Force rekindles his dormant purpose.
The Japanese trailer from five months ago showed a gruesome world mixed with funny moments. Now, the new English dub trailer leans into that spirit, particularly the comedic aspects and the twist. Moreover, Production I.G., who did Psycho-Pass and Ghost in the Shell, animates Kaiju No. 8 alongside Studio Khara (Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition).
