GALECA Announces the Dorian TV Awards Winners And Special Awards

GALECA announced the winner of The Dorian TV Awards! Alongside the TV awards, GALECA members also voted for winners for the Wilde Wit Award, GALECA TV Icon Award, and GALECA LGBTQIA+ Trailblazer Award. Top winners this year are HacksAnne Rice’s Interview With the Vampire, and Fellow Travelers. Here are some of the winners.

Unsurprisingly and deservedly, AMC’s Anne Rice’s Interview With the Vampire wins “Best TV Drama,” “Best LGBTQ TV Show,” and “Best Genre TV Show” at The Dorian TV Awards. The knockout series needs more attention. It is phenomenal, with the whole gamut of emotions on raw, unfiltered display with vampires. But the top winner is Max’s Hacks, with four awards for “Best TV Comedy,” “Best Written TV Show,” “Best TV Performance—Comedy” for Jean Smart in the series, and Hannah Einbinder won “Best Supporting TV Performance—Comedy.”

For drama performances, Matt Bomer and Jonathan Baily nab “Best TV Performance” and “Best Supporting TV Performance,” respectively, for Showtime’s Fellow Travelers. Next, Netflix’s Baby Reindeer wins “Best TV Movie or Limited Series,” and FX’s Reservation Dogs wins “Best Unsung TV Show.” FX/Hulu’s Shōgun wins “Best Non-English TV Show,” Young Royals, on Netflix, wins “Best LGBTQ Non-English TV Show” for The Dorian TV Awards.

In documentaries, Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV wins “Best TV Documentary or Documentary Series.” Meanwhile, Last Call: When a Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York receives the award for “Best LGBTQ TV Documentary or Documentary Series.” 

For The Dorian TV Awards, special accolades went out to three stars. Julio Torres, who wins the “Wilde Wit Award.” Carol Burnett gets the “GALECA TV Icon Award.” Lastly, Alan Cumming receives the award for “GALECA LGBTQIA+ TV Trailblazer Award.
