My interview with The Killer’s Game author Jay Bonansinga, in which he talks about the book’s origins, what the adaptation process was like, and whether or not he prefers to write original works or I.P.
The Killer’s Game author, Jay Bonansinga, came up with a unique premise. In The Killer’s Game, hitman Joe Flood (Dave Bautista) discovers he has a terminal illness. With that in mind, he decides to put a hit out on himself. However, Joe quickly learns that he will be alright. Unfortunately for him, he must now go on the run from several assassins determined to fulfill the contract. Some of the assassins gunning for his demise are Terry Crews (Everybody Hates Chris), Scott Adkins (Ip Man 4), and Marko Zaror (Alita: Battle Angel), all led by Marianna (Pom Klementieff).
Recently, I was able to interview The Killer’s Game author Jay Bonansinga, who wrote The Killer’s Game. Together, we discussed how it felt seeing his work adapted. We also discuss key things he wanted to see, and what he had more freedom writing. Additionally, we discuss the various directors attached to the project. As well as how long the project was stuck in Development Hell.
Official Synopsis: In the new action-comedy THE KILLER’S GAME, when top hitman Joe Flood (Dave Bautista) is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he decides to take matters into his own hands – by taking a hit out on himself. But when the very hitmen he hired also target his ex-girlfriend (Sofia Boutella), he must fend off an army of assassin colleagues and win back the love of his life before it’s too late.
Now playing in theaters, everywhere!
