The M3gan 2.0 Trailer Adds Double the Chaotic Energy

The M3gan 2.0 trailer now gives fans of the first film a clear idea of what the second film has in store for us. Sadly, dancing didn’t appear in the trailer except as a flashback. Still, the movie looks to do what Don’t Breathe 2 attempted—redeem a villain. Successful or not, M3gan’s snarky attitude and “only have eyes for Cady” mindset will ensure violence and chaos as M3gan faces off against another android. The first movie was a surprise hit, blending cool comedy violence as M3gan served looks and beatdowns. The sequel has the team returning.

Gerard Johnstone (Housebound) returns as director with a story by Akela Cooper (The Nun IIHell Fest) and James Wan (Aquaman and the Lost KingdomMalignant). Violet McGraw (Doctor SleepThe Life of Chuck) again plays Cady, with Allison Williams (The PerfectionGet Out) returning as her Gemma, Cady’s—hopefully now—caring and involved aunt. At the end of the previous film, another company discovered how to create M3gan. So in the M3gan 2.0 trailer, a knockoff M3gan named Amelia, played by Ivanna Sakhno (Either Side of MidnightLet It Snow), has also gone off the rails, killing those who had a hand in her creation.

This is a path that eventually leads back to Gemma and Cady. However, M3gan is not about to let that happen—not to Cady, at least. The M3gan 2.0 trailer leans into what made the first movie so much fun and cranks it to eleven. Plus, M3gan receives upgrades, including height, to help her combat Amelia. Thus, Amie Donald, who played her in the previous film, returns. Thankfully, she again gets to lend her talents to the sequel, bringing this android baddie to life.

What do you think of the M3gan 2.0 trailer?
