The Remarried Empress 7 is sweet with more comedy than previous volumes but maintains its drama, leaving readers rooting for Navier and Heinrey.
The Remarried Empress 7 finally has Navier and Heinrey together in his country. Unfortunately, her horrid ex still wants to have his cake and eat it. So, he’s plotting, but there is also tension as Navier adjusts to her new rule and replaces the former queen, Heinrey’s sister-in-law, Krista. But that’s not all the drama, as Navier learns a secret that rattles her core. The Remarried Empress 7 is sweet with more comedy than previous volumes but maintains its drama, leaving readers rooting for Navier and Heinrey.
With illustrations by Sumpul, adapted by HereLee, and an original story by Alphatart, it opens with Navier and Heinrey entering Heinrey’s castle. They escaped Emperor Sovieshu’s lockdown to prevent her from remarrying. But it’s not smooth sailing since some of Heinrey’s people are unhappy with the imminent change. Translated by Webtoon and lettered by Shirley Chen, the Yen Press comic focuses on Navier’s adjustment with some surprises. The Remarried Empress 7 still makes time to show Sovieshu’s scheming and Rashta gloating like she’s achieved victory.
The Remarried Empress 7 Adds a New Funny Character and Unveils a Secret
Navier struggles internally to adjust to the Western Kingdom. After all, the people lost their king. Their Queen Krista will also lose her position since Heinrey is the new king and plans to marry Krista. Entering already-established politics and family dynamics presents challenges. So Navier hires some new staff to work with her, one of which stands out, Rose. She does not know how to be a lady-in-waiting because she is more of a tomboy. But her arrival ushers in more laughs based on how she responds to different situations. Another surprise The Remarried Empress 7 adds is Navier discovering Heinrey’s secret and more.
Navier feels a lot, but given politics and her previous position as empress, she conceals her true feelings. But now, she’s about to get a couple of shocks. Not only does she discover that Heinrey is the bird, Queen, that she adores, but she also sees him completely naked when he turns back into a man. So, after that, there’s tension between them that Heinrey does not understand. But it’s hilarious for the readers because Navier recalls seeing him naked every time she looks at him.
Sovieshu Still Won’t Let Go
The Remarried Empress 7 focuses on Navier and Heinrey’s relationship and adjustment. However, it makes time for Sovieshu and Rashta. Rashta does not understand that Sovieshu still wants Navier, too, and assumes his dislike for Duke Ergi stems from jealousy. But he is not jealous of Rashta and Ergi being friends. Rather, Sovieshu does not trust Ergi because he knows Ergi helped Navier and Heinrey to escape. Plus, with Ergi’s position, Sovieshu cannot do anything to him. Given how self-centered Sovieshu and Rashta are, they deserve each other. Sovieshu’s letter to Navier could add some drama, but hopefully, Navier realizes that he’s not worth her time.
The Remarried Empress 7 is an excellent continuation of the series. Seeing Navier struggle with discomfort because of Heinrey’s attractiveness when naked makes her even more human and shows a shyness that adds an endearing quality to her. They are a couple that readers will hope to go the distance. Meanwhile, Sovieshu and Rashta look like temperamental children, undeserving of someone like Navier in their lives. The Remarried Empress 7 builds up a sweet romance but keeps the drama and laughs simmering.
