Tied to You 2 Brings Obsession and Drama

Tied to You 2 keeps the story steeped in ups and downs, with outside forces wreaking havoc and emotional turmoil taking care of the rest.

Tied to You 2 is messy, chaotic drama in which two brothers become rivals for one guy’s affection. Tying into it is the literal string that makes Wooseo and Jigeon ring partners, even though he pines for his best friend and Jigeon’s brother, Jiseok. If that weren’t enough drama, they now all live together. It makes it easy for Wooseo and Jigeon to be together. But keeping it secret is an uphill battle, and one Jigeon seems less inclined to win. Tied to You 2 keeps the story steeped in ups and downs, with outside forces wreaking havoc and emotional turmoil taking care of the rest.

The original story by Chelliace, art by What, Micah Kim’s translation and Chi Bui’s lettering starts with Jigeon picking up a drunk Wooseo. While unrequited love is a horrible thing to experience, Wooseo is mature enough not to force his feelings on his friend. But, the line of “impossible” becomes murky in this volume of the Yen Press comic. Sometimes, close friendships become confusing as people fight to hold onto the status quo because they fear change. It’s understandable, and this Yen Press comic volume delves into that and the many faces of jealousy.

Tied to You 2 Brings Jealousy Disguised as Well-Meaning Help

Besides Jiseok’s suspicions about Jigeon and Wooseo, jealousy is building up. Sometimes, people take friends or partners for granted. Jiseok may believe he’s moving in his friend’s best interest by possibly moving on him, but he is a hypocrite. He does not want Jigeon to date Wooseo because Jigeon is a player, and he’s worried that Jigeon will break Wooseo’s heart. However, if he enters a relationship with Wooseo only to keep Jigeon away, the relationship will likely reach a bitter end. Jigeon’s not much better. But he cares about what Wooseo wants rather than deciding for him.

Selfishness is a trait not only reserved for the brothers. Jigeon’s former partner, Jinho, pops up in this volume. He refuses to believe Jigeon dumped him because he was tired of him. Instead, he thinks the Ring is the cause. So, like any helpful ex, he wants to remove the problem, a.k.a. Wooseo. However, readers also see that Jigeon is not a good person and does not deserve Wooseo. Calling Jinho “trash” likely exacerbated Jinho’s anger and jealousy. Tied to You 2 is a messy drama that shows the best thing Wooseo can do is move out of the brothers’ apartment and end all contact with them.

Need More Details on Ring Partners

Tied to You 2 ends with a cliffhanger around Ring Partners and how to cut the connection. Hopefully, they expand on the “rules” of Ring Partners. There are a lot of questions, such as whether the partners knew each other prior, whether there is an age cap, etc. But the messy bestie drama persists and keeps the volume fresh. Another great addition would be learning more about how Jiseok feels about Wooseo. Is it fear of losing a friend to his brother? Or something more? Tied to You 2adds more chaos to the likely couple as they navigate past relationships and crushes while feeling the heat of suspicion from those around them.
