Thanks to how engaging each pair is, whether bickering or steamy chemistry, A Business Proposal 5 is a volume you cannot put down.

In A Business Proposal 5, the firmly established couples now face their greatest threats: prospective in-laws. Of course, like any K-drama, the wealthy family looks down on anyone they deem unworthy. However, their idea of value ties to the person’s net monetary value. So, drama abounds with comedic moments mixed in as love goggles lead to adorably funny comic drawings and interactions. Thanks to how engaging each pair is, whether bickering or steamy chemistry, A Business Proposal 5 is a volume you cannot put down.

With the original story by Haehwa, adapted by Perilla, and art by Narak, the volume contains twelve chapters of drama, plotting, romance, and laughs. Translated by Tapas Entertainment Inc. and lettered by Abigail Blackman, the Yen Press comic, the volume starts with Hari and Taemu getting hot and heavy on the street. Hari’s determined to nab Taemu, but maybe as a hookup and less as a lifelong partner. So, Taemu’s got his work cut out for him winning her over after everything. Still, with relationships finally progressing, A Business Proposal 5 is a favorite of the series.

A Business Proposal 5 Has A Unique Blend of Romance and Family Drama

Both couples share similar issues, at least on the surface. Taemu and Hari need to get Taemu’s grandfather’s blessing. As he is the patriarch, it’s not so easy. Although something is amiss, watching how whiny the grandfather becomes is hilarious because Taemu does not spend enough time with him. Also, Taemu did not expect Hari to acquiesce to everything his grandad wanted. But Hari’s trying to win his blessing to date Taemu. Whereas Taemu has a different end game. A Business Proposal 5 builds the laughs and some sweet moments that only come from crotchety elderly people.

Yeongsuh and Sunghoon’s relationship has the full brunt of family drama. Yeongsuh’s father is materialistic and has an elitist edge, making it a wonder that Yeongsuh has become such a decent human being. So, their relationship challenges have outside forces wreaking havoc. Still, A Business Proposal 5 maintains a level of sexy and adorable between the two. There is little more enticing than a hot man in glasses who can still blush.

Competitors Have Entered the Chat

Yoojeong Cho continues hovering around Sunghoon, awaiting an opportunity to snatch him up. The series builds up the tension between her and Yeongsuh. While jealousy is not a healthy emotion, especially when it reaches levels of distrust and possessiveness, it works, given Yeongsuh’s previous outbursts. But Yoojeong is not the only person. An attractive new man, Jihoon Yoon, works as Taemu’s fill-in assistant. So now Taemu’s jealousy comes to the fore. It keeps it interesting, if a tad unrealistic, but that’s a K-drama-style series for you.

A Business Proposal 5 leans into the laughs and adorable couple moments between Hari and Taemu. They are a cute couple, and it’s easy to cheer them on. But the series still manages to juggle another couple with an entirely different dynamic from them in Yeongsuh and Sunghoon. So, it’s a series you start reading and realize hours passed. Everything else recedes. A Business Proposal 5 is impossible to put down; even when you reach the end, you want to start all over again.
