Blink Twice Trailer Is Promising and Exciting Killer Debut

Zoë Kravitz movies behind the camera for Blink Twice. Sadly, many still lament that the streaming series High Fidelity, starring Zoë Kravitz (The BatmanKimi), never got its second season. But Zoë herself is on to bigger and better things, like her directorial debut. She also wrote the screenplay alongside E.T. Feigenbaum. In addition, Feigenbaum also wrote an episode of High Fidelity. Now, Amazon MGM Studios just released a trailer for the comedic sleuth, and it stars Zoë’s real-life partner, Channing Tatum (DogThe Lost City).

The film follows a tech billionaire, Slater King, played by Channing Tatum, who invites Frida (Naomi Ackie, Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With SomebodyThe End of the F***ing World), a cocktail waitress on a getaway to his private island. At first, it seems blissful as she mingles with the creme de la creme. However, odd occurrences leave Frida questioning her reality. Now, she’ll have to discover the truth to make her escape.

Blink Twice delivers a trailer that blends laughs and horror elements. In truth, it looks like a trippy slasher like Knives Out. But with psychological terror. Through the trailer, there’s confusion, plenty of weapons, creepy, mindless smiles, and overall chaos. For Zoë Kravitz’s first film, it looks promising.

Also starring in Blink Twice are Alia Shawkat (Whip ItThe Final Girls), Adria Arjona (Hit ManMorbius), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin PeaksFallout), Geena Davis (AvaThe Long Kiss Goodnight), Christian Slater (The Spiderwick ChroniclesTrue Romance), Haley Joel Osment (The BoysThe Sixth Sense), Saul Williams (GirlfriendsK-Pax) and more.

What do you think of the Blink Twice trailer?

Blink Twice releases in theaters on August 23.
