The Life of Chuck teaser is out now, courtesy of NEON. It is looking to get moviegoers excited for this latest work by writer Stephen King (Carrie, The Shining), adapted to the silver screen by Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep, The Fall of the House of Usher). Of the works that Flanagan adapted, this one is much less horror. Rather is seems more existential but no less profound. The Life of Chuck teaser gives nothing away, showing Tom Hiddleston (Loki, The Avengers) as Chuck.
Despite the scarcity of details in the trailer, with Mike Flanagan at the helm directing and Michael Fimognari (The Midnight Club, Fast Color) for cinematography, the dynamic duo will surely deliver wondrous and moving visuals. Plus, the teaser references Stephen King’s more poignant, emotional films like Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. So, The Life of Chuck teaser, it’s likely to be a moving film. The film looks at three chapters in the life of Charles Krantz, a.k.a. Chuck.
Furthermore, the cast is a mix of talent who worked with Flanagan previously and new additions. Now, the returnees include Flanagan’s partner Kate Siegel (Hush, The Haunting of Hill House), Samantha Sloyan (Midnight Mass, Grey’s Anatomy), Rahul Kohli (Next Exit, iZombie), and Jacob Tremblay (Room, Doctor Sleep) to name a few. Some of the newcomers to working with Flanagan include Chiwetel Ejiofor (Rob Peace, The Old Guard), Matthew Lillard (Five Nights at Freddy’s, Scream), Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Gunpowder Milkshake), and David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad, The Last Voyage of the Demeter).
So, given the cast and combination of King and Flanagan, even with little to go by in The Life of Chuck teaser, it’s easy to feel excited.
