My interview with Boy Kills World actor Famke Janssen and Brett Gelman, regarding what it’s like to play a villain and work with Shartlo Copley and Michelle Dockery.
In Boy Kills World, after losing his family to a totalitarian regime, an anonymous young man named Boy (Bill Skarsgård) trains his body for two goals. The first, is to launch a one-man war against the regime. The second goal in Boy Kills World, is to kill the head of the regime, Hilda Van Der Koy (Famke Janssen) and her entire family (Shartlo Copley, Michelle Dockery, Brett Gelman).
Recently, I was able to talk to Boy Kills World villainess Hilda Van Der Koy herself, actress Famke Janssen (X-Men, The Faculty) and Brett Gelman (Stranger Things), who plays her brother-in-law Gideon. Together, the two talk about what it’s like to play horrible villains. Additionally, the two talked about what it’s like to work with District 9‘s Shartlo Copley and The Gentlemen star Michelle Dockery.
Official Synopsis: Skarsgård stars as “Boy” who avows revenge after his family is murdered by Hilda Van Der Koy (Janssen), the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that left the boy orphaned, deaf and voiceless. Driven by his inner voice, one which he co-opted from his favorite childhood video game, Boy trains with a mysterious shaman (Ruhian) to become an instrument of death and is set loose on the eve of the annual culling of dissidents.
Bedlam ensues as Boy commits bloody martial arts mayhem, inciting a wrath of carnage and blood-letting. As he tries to get his bearings in this delirious realm, Boy soon falls in with a desperate resistance group, all the while bickering with the apparent ghost of his rebellious little sister.
Now playing in theaters, everywhere!
