Jungle Juice 5 paves an exciting story for readers thanks to the battles and genuine sense of danger.

Jungle Juice 5 ushers in bigger fights that are life-threatening. Akin to other shonen manga, especially ones in school, the story follows the well-trod plot points. However, the insect aspect and characters allow the series to remain entertaining. In particular, the threats arrive as the students learn to evolve their abilities, challenging and defeating their weaknesses. Jungle Juice 5 paves an exciting story for readers thanks to the battles and genuine sense of danger.

Created by Hyeong Eun, art by Juder, translation by Ah Cho, and lettering by Adam Jankowski, this manhwa continues the various battles between the students and staff of Nest and the Predators with Pet Shop. With the fights, we get a bit more backstory about Professor Ji’s history with one of the Predators in this Yen Press comic. Aside from that, it’s exciting to see the students level up their skills in actual combat. So, the volume keeps readers invested in each battle.

Jungle Juice 5 Focuses on the Action

Like an anime with a cliffhanger episode mid-fight, the Yen Press comic begins mid-battle as the students and faculty of Nest battle Pet Shop. However, the odds are not great. But the actual combat experience can only help the surviving students with what’s to come. Thanks to Professor Ji, the students leveled up their combat abilities right in the nick of time for this confrontation. Some upgrades are more exciting than others, such as Huijin looking like Nezuko in demon mode, but each battle increases excitement. Jungle Juice 5 focuses on building up the fights along with Professor Ji’s history and Pet Shop’s focus on killing him.

Before, the fights were the least interesting aspect. Instead, the lore of the world and the various insects fused with people held all the fascination. Now, the series cements the action side. So, now the fights have the insect lore and character affection. You’ll cheer for Huijin, Dohwa, and even Suchan. Sometimes, given their sizes, we forget how tough, even dangerous, insects are to other creatures. Jungle Juice 5 gives a reminder and then some.

A Powerful Message About Self-Worth

Here, the villains emphasize the importance of accepting one’s self. Although it seemed like the toll on Professor Ji’s body resulted from his abilities, that’s not the case. Instead, it’s his refusal to accept his insect complex. While the ramifications seem more severe in this world of insect abilities, it’s an important message nonetheless. Self-acceptance breeds positivity, which plays a role in all aspects. Self-hate or denial takes a toll over time. Jungle Juice 5 is a fictional story but ensures it connects with readers universally.

Of the volumes so far, Jungle Juice 5 is my favorite. There’s a lot of action, twists, and loads of questions about the characters and what’s in store for the future. It leaves you cheering for your favorites, but curious about the abilities and stories of the foes. The end teasing an unlikely team-up for payback adds excitement for the next volume. Jungle Juice 5 is top-tier excitement with epic fights and surprising abilities, leaving you clamoring for more.
